Tornado But No Tornado Warning?
My County is apparently currently under a tornado warning, but the sirens are not going off. This is a very weird backward twist to what they usually do. Typically, my town fires off the tornado sirens even when there is no chance of the tornado entering our town. If it’s anywhere in the county, they’d fire them off.
This evening? Nothing. I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t over heard someone mention it and consequently checked Weather.com for my area.
Huh.
It seems peaceful out there too. Comfortable temperature, no unusual cloud coverage. No rain. No lightening or thunder. Apparently someone very close to us is getting hammered however.
Well, let’s hope that this night passes without any destruction, eh?

We’re supposed to have some pretty big storms today and the weather has been ever so slightly hinting at that all day. It’s nice and warm with a good breeze, and there’s just a pinch of cool to the wind. Perfect for doing something out side.
Rather than working out today I went for about a 30 minute walk with my mother. She needs the sun anyway. At one point she suddenly exlaims, “oh my god!” and backs away, which causes me to have a brief “wtf!?” moment and look at what she was moving away from. I saw two shapes coming at us and then my brain registered that they were two large dogs.
It was a pleasent visit, though. Turns out that they were incredibly friendly (and well groomed, very big) golden retrievers that lived at the house which we had walked in front of. They ran out to say hello and to sniff us, and to get some pet’ns. We loved them up a bit and one even hopped up to put its front paws on me and get a little hugpat.
At this point me mum decided to walk back to the house, and one of the dogs followed us down the side walk to about the edge of their yard. They were such friendly pooches.
Another, and I think better reason to turn back were the two mormons walking up the other side of the street. I find it ironic because my mother’s a Jehova’s Witness and even she commented on how weird they looked going door to door. I laughed and made a point of saying, “It’s all the same thing”, but of course she strongly denies that.
I’d have to agree with her about their weirdness, though. The two guys – who were younger than myself – wore both their cloths and their hair identically. They were wearing black dress pants with white button up dress shirts that had black suspenders holding up their britches, and their hair was slicked over to the side ala something copied from “a good’ol boy” from the 50’s.
[Insert obligatory comment about religions being silly]
As for the diet, I now have some South Beach Diet wraps and had a couple of their veggie wraps. It’s not too bad. The taste is a touch bland but it’s much healthier than burritos.
If it doesn’t storm tonight (thus making the backyard too muddy) then I’ll get out back and do some actual exercising tomorrow.
Bananas and south beach diet wraps, woohoo!
On a completely random note: banana banana banana banana banana banana … seriously, how is that not fun to type? :p
