sigh, the crashing is insane
My computer’s hardware seems to be about to completely give up the ghost. Listening to music for around fifteen minutes will BSOD the system, and attempting to run a game will typically BSOD in around five.
It’s reaching the point that the computer is becoming unusuable.
This wouldn’t be a problem if Linspire had not fubared the MBR of my drive. That was $63 for a new hard drive. That’s almost enough to buy another (this time decent) 512×2 to replace my existing sticks, and I would no longer be in this mess. Ohhh no, can’t well have that.
*sigh*
It’d put me in a bit of a bind at the moment to splurge near $100 on computer parts. I could probably buy cheaper system memory, but that’s what put me in this spot to begin with.
Damn it, I’m getting tired of the crashes.

I changed some settings in the BIOS and gained a little more stability. The system still crashes and/or locks up, but at least it’s not every few minutes or so.
According to the info from the web searching that I done, my motherboard has a problem with RAM that has a CAS latency of 3. Oddly enough, this requires me to ever so slightly over clock my system memory in order to gain some stability, because my memory is rated at CAS 3 and must be set to 2.5.
The longer that I deal with computers the more and more that I grow tired of dealing with their nonsense. I really need a new hobby.
