The Personal World of Steph

Of Jeeps And Aliens

This dream occurred on the night before my previous dream entry. In other words, the dream with Kerry in it is newer than this dream, but I’m posting this second because I didn’t want the details of the other dream to fade before I had a chance to post it.

The details of this dream are few but still quite enough to make a post about.

Have you ever seen the show Twin Peaks, or have you visited Bellingham, Washington or perhaps the New Hampshire area? The setting of the dream is like those areas. Mountains with lots of trees. It’s beautiful.

My vehicle in this dream was a new 4×4 jeep. It was very similar to a hummer, in fact, but was probably more jeep than hummer.

Here’s the part that I remember: It was dark and I was visiting a small store down the road from my cabin, which was positioned in the mountains amongst the trees (my idea place). The road that passed the store was relatively small and either side was flanked by the large, green trees. A very picturesque setting, and was perfect for what happens.

The store owner was some over weight friendly fellow who I knew by first name. I had purchased a single bag of supplies – drinks mostly, I think, along with some bread. I bid him good night and walked out of the shop in good humor.

The parking lot was mostly dirt. I remember the sound as I stepped up to the door of my jeep, opened it, put my bag in and sat behind the wheel. It was a comfortable seat. I turned the key, turned on the radio to listen to some pleasent driving music, and pulled the knob to turn on the head lights.

Standing immediately in front of my jeep, now fully illuminated, was a Grey looking right at me. Its short height allowed only about half of its eyes and head to show over the hood of the large jeep.

There was a brief pause where we stared at each other in surprise.

Despite my reactions, which I’ll get into shortly, I should note that I was not scared. At all. In fact I had little to no emotional reaction. My reaction was a purely logical decision. I wanted to discourage the thing and make it go away, as I had no desire to be abducted. I figured if I made enough noise then it would get the hint and simply go away.

So I screamed a big “ARRGHHH!”.

It dashed around to the side of the jeep. I could hear the quick pitter-patter of its little feet.

My first reaction was to turn around and lock the doors so that it couldn’t jump into the jeep with me. Unfortunately the jeep was too big and I knew that I’d never be able to turn around and hit the locks in time (which weren’t mechanical, obviously, they were push-button locks). So I threw the jeep into reverse and peeled out of the dirt parking spot.

I figured that I should make sure to get rid of it in case it had clung to the back of my jeep or some such, so I swerved the jeep from side to side as much as I could without going over the sides. which, considering that it’s a mountain setting, would have been a very bad thing. I came close but never went over.

I’m not sure if I flung the alien off of my jeep or if it had already gotten inside, or if it even latched onto the jeep to begin with. The dream ended with a movie-like view of my jeep racing away, down the road, back to home…

A strange way to react despite not feeling any fear, but it’s true. There was no ounce of fear in the dream, other than a touch of concern about going over the sides.

That was a strange thing to dream of. Just *POOF*, out of no where in an otherwise perfectly comfortable dream.

You know what we need? A new brand of plush toys: konichiwa alien! (0_0)/ hi!
