SWG – Now With Desperate Commercials
I’m sure that you have seen it. We all have. A commercial comes on expounding on the amazing qualities of some product and then reveals that it’s “ONLY $19.95!” There’s more product bragging, and then you reach then “but wait, there’s more! Call in the next 10 minutes….” stage.
SWG (StarWars Galaxies) now has its own commercial like this, complete with cheap quality audio and an announcer who’s obviously reading from a script, and an 800 number to call “to order YOUR copy today“. Have your credit cards ready! lol “You can even be a Jedi!”, exclaims the commercial.
Step by step it matches the style of those commercials perfectly, only I don’t recall a “but wait, there’s more!” stage. Not like they have much to offer to begin with. Oh, but the announcer proudly informs that you can play online with “hundreds of other players”. Hey, at least they’re being honest! Eh heh. Oh the irony.
So this is the point to which SWG has sunk. A late night “but wait, there’s more!” commercial that can’t even offer the “more”. I wish that I had a link to it but this was found on none other than G4TV, caught as I was avoiding commercials on Sci Fi.

Art Bell’s Wife Dies
This is horrible news to share. Art Bell’s wife died on the evening of Thursday, January 5th 2006. George just announced it as the first piece of news at the beginning of the show. No information about the cause was given, it was a brief mention as it probably should have been.
George sounded shaky for a few moments after announcing it as he began going over the rest of the news.
That’s all the information that was given, and I obviously have no idea what else to say.
